2020 EndSARS Protest Changed My Life, Says DJ Switch

Published

on

Nigeria disc jockey, Catherine Udeh, popularly known as DJ Switch, has stated that the #EndSARS protest of 2020 changed her life for worse and for better.

The activist took to her verified Instagram page on Wednesday, which marked a year after the protest, to narrate how the movement changed her life.

The DJ gained more prominence last year when she took to her Instagram page to do a live coverage that showed protesters being shot at by personnel of the Nigerian army at the Lekki Toll Gate during the #EndSARS protest that rocked the nation last year.

While most Nigerians praised her for her braveness, the DJ has claimed that she is on the run from the Nigerian government.

Sharing a video of herself on the protest day, she said, “On this day, last year 20.10.20 we were filled with hopes that young Nigerians took a solid stand.

“Through all the government’s antics, lies, counter protesters and thugs that were sent to attack us, we stood our ground!

“When the Nigerian government exhausted all their poorly planned tactics, they unleashed nothing short of evil on its citizens.

“I’ve not been able to talk today and I cannot imagine what others who had it worse, feel!

“I am so proud of our young generation of leaders and our celebrities that have shown great leadership.

“I also must say, it is not a one day affair. This is a fight for the very fabric of our nation!

“My life changed on this day… for worse! But, I also believe it changed for good! I now know what it means to need something so bad and that need for me is a better Nigeria!

“To the youths who risked it all today in order to remember 20.10.20, you are in every bit Superman/Superwoman! Thanks to @davido for an anthem to remember! #endsarsmemorial #endsars #whogavetheorder #neverpostedthisbefore” (sic)

‘I’m Hurt And Humiliated’, BBNaija’s Maria Cries Out After Being Extorted, Quarantined By Ghanaian Authorities

Published

on

Former Big Brother Naija Housemate Maria Chike Benjamin was reportedly extorted and quarantined by the Ghanaian authorities against her will.

The report shared by an Instagram blogger alleged that Ghanaians are issuing Nigerians fake Covid-19 result to keep them in quarantine and extort them.

According to the report, Maria is kept in a stinking hostel even when the doctor has confirmed she is Covid-19 negative.

The post reads: The Ghanian authorities are holding Maria against her will. This is sad. What is this Covid extortion? These people are doing fake covid results to keep Nigerians in quarantine and extort them. What is this mess? Kept her in a stinking hostel even when the doctor confirmed she’s covid negative. Again, what is the essence of the Covid-19 vaccine.

Recall that Maria Chike received backlashes after sharing a video with her married lover Kelvin.

This generated several reactions from social media users, especially after Maria failed to debunk the news of dating and snatching the married man, Kelvin.

Many thought that Maria had finally dumped Kelvin, not knowing that they are still dating.

Maria, who is currently in Dubai, took to her Instagram story to share a video where she and Kelvin, alongside their friends, were having fun.

Reacting to this, many netizens slammed Maria stating that her apology to kelvin’s wife was to please the public and calm the situation.

While some netizens claimed that Maria had no conscience for showing off another man’s wife on social media, others blamed Kelvin for Maria’s attitude.

Fast-rising Nollywood actress Bukola Kiitan has been admitted to the hospital over an undisclosed ailment and cancelled all engagement.

Taking to her Instagram page, Bukola Kiitan shared a video of her lying on the bed with a drip fixed to her hand.

Bukola Kiitan apologised to her fans and followers that she would not meet up for a proposed meet and greet at the Cinema today.

According to Bukola Kiitan, her current health status is an aftermath of a movie shoot.

She wrote: Am so sorry can’t meet up for the meet and greet at the cinema today. Aftermath of movie shoot.

Recall that Bukola Kiitan tackled former Big Brother Naija Housemate Ka3na for dragging actors about movie production and brand influencing.

In a post shared on the microblogging platform, Ka3na claimed that most Nollywood producers and actors had become brand influencers; hence there are no latest Nigerian movies on Netflix.

Ka3na opined that many of these Nollywood stars joined brand influencing because former housemates of the BBNaija show opened their eyes to know that brand influencing is a lucrative business.

She added that brand influencing is not a competition as she urged Nollywood producers and actors to make good movies for the Christmas holiday.

She wrote: Most Nollywood movie producers/actors have become brand influencers. No latest Nigerian movies on Netflix. Bbn housemates don open their eyes to influencing money. It’s not a competition. Y’all make us good holiday movies, please.

Displeased with the statement, Kitan Bukola slammed Ka3na for insulting people who have struggled for years to get fame, unlike her, who was fortunate because of the BBNaiija platform.

Kitan Bukola urged Ka3na not to discredit Nollywood stars because of the fame which she got within a few months or use her grace to disgrace others.

Some People Think Men Are Bankrolling My Lifestyle, Says Actress Uche Elendu

Published

on

Actress, Uche Elendu has debunked the speculations online that men are bankrolling her lifestyle.

The light skinned role interpreter said:”I don’t know why people don’t understand that women are now independent. Several times, false judgment has been made against me in that regard. Women work hard to make a name for themselves and they do not want to be swept under the carpet.

“Personally, I work so hard to be financially comfortable. But, despite my hard work, if I buy a car or a house, some people would still say, ‘Who is the man bankrolling her’? That is gender inequality and people do not understand that everybody is not the same.

“I remember that last year (October 2020 in the aftermath of the #EndSARS protests) when I lost goods in my store, some persons were saying I stop crying because the alleged politician that bought it for me would stock my shop again, she stated in a recent interview.

Elendu debuted her acting career by featuring in a movie titled Fear of the Unknown.

As a result of her marriage, she took a long break from acting and this action eventually derailed and stagnated her career as an actress. In 2015 she secured the lead role in a movie titled Ada Mbano. This movie was the catalyst which re-ignited her acting career.
