Arsenal left it late in the London derby against West Ham to win 2-1 in a hard-fought victory.

The Gunners playing at home for the first time this season started on a positive note, pressing forward and got rewarded in the 25th minute.

Alexander Lacazette powered home a header after receiving a fine pass from star striker, Pierre Emerick-Aubamayang to put his team in the driving seat.

Arsenal searched for an early second goal but Bukayo Saka couldn’t keep his shot low.

With the first half almost done, West Ham broke free from the midfield, and on the stroke of half time, Micheal Antonio pulled his side level.

The second half saw West Ham take the game to their hosts as Arsenal could hardly continue where they left off in the first half.

West Ham had chances to punish Arsenal but was wasteful in front of goal on several occasions.

With the game looking poised for a draw, substitute, Eddy Nketiah finished off a brilliant pass from Dani Ceballos to fire into an empty net in the 86th minute.

West Ham pushed for an equalizer but Arsenal held onto their precious lead to send their visitors home empty-handed.

Arsenal now have six maximum points from two games and seat on second spot with Everton (first) and Crystal Palace(third) who earlier produced a brilliant performance against West Brom and Manchester United respectively.
