Bye-Election: Three Policemen Feared Dead As Boat Capsizes In Bayelsa

A boat carrying some policemen to the southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, has capsized.

It was gathered that they were reportedly traveling to the area to monitor the senatorial bye-election.

Although the police has yet to confirm the number of victims, at least three policemen are said to have drowned.

The spokesman of the Police Command in Bayelsa, SP Asinim Butswat who confirmed the incident said the boat capsized on its way to Oporoma, Headquarters of Southern Ijaw Local Government Area.

He, however, added that they were yet to ascertain the total number of Police officers involved in the incident.
