National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaji Bola Ahmed Tinubu has forced the embattled Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Mudashiru Obasa to recall the four suspended lawmakers.

The Speaker had announced the decision at the start of the House plenary on Thursday.

According to him, the Governor’s Advisory Council, chaired by Tinubu had called a meeting on Tuesday to intervene in the crisis and directed that the House immediately reinstate the suspended lawmakers.

The affected lawmakers are Mr Olumuyiwa Jimoh, who was the former Deputy Majority Leader, Mr Rotimi Abiru who was the Chief Whip as well as Mr Moshood Oshun and Mr Raheem Adewale.

Their indefinite suspension was announced at the plenary of Monday, 9th of this month and the affected lawmakers had since been denied access to the legislative complex.

Tinubu, Thepledge learnt at the meeting,frowned at the disclosure of ‘secret’ documents of the House suspected to have been orchestrated by the suspended lawmakers, warning that such should not repeat itself as there would be dire consequences.

He also cautioned the Speaker to avoid using his position to attack his colleagues who are not in agreement with his style of leadership without due consultation with the party leadership in the State.

Thepledge also relaibly gathered that some party leaders in the State are fuming that the Speaker was let off the hook without paying the price of al least apologising to some of the members and leaders of the party.

“One would have expected the speaker who has been so arrogant and contravening all laid down procedures and laws of the house to show some remorse and apologise for his actions. Let me tell you, this truce will be only be temporary if the speaker does not show decency and respect to the House as an institution”, one of the senior members of the House said.
