Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode has condemned the decision of President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration to beg American billionaire, Elon Musk, for ventilators to treat the COVID-19 pandemic.
Recall that on Thursday, the Federal Ministry of Finance, Budget, and National Planning tagged the billionaire on Twitter, asking him to assist Nigeria.
With over N13.5 billion donated by individuals to support the Federal Government in the fight against coronavirus, many Nigerians are wondering why the Finance Ministry would make a public plea for ventilators.
Reacting to this development, Fani-Kayode via his official twitter handle on Friday stated that FG’s move to publicly appeal for ventilators supply has ridiculed the country to least.
“I have never been so ashamed of being a Nigerian than when I heard that our Govt. publicly begged @elonmusk for help to supply ventilators and other things to fight Covid 19. A country of 200 million people is begging a man like that for a [email protected] has killed Nigeria!”
