An Adamawa State High Court, sitting in Yola, has restrained the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from conducting the rescheduled March 23 supplementary election in the state.
Justice Abdulaziz Waziri gave the order following an ex-parte motion filed by Movement of Restoration for Defence of Democracy (MRPD).
The party is contending, that INEC excluded its logo from the ballot paper for the March 9 governorship election conducted in the state.
INEC had declared the election in the state inconclusive on grounds that the total number of cancelled votes exceeded the margin between the first and the second positions, and had fixed March 23 for a supplementary poll.
Ahmed Umar Fintiri, candidate of the PDP had polled 367,471 votes, while the incumbent governor, Jibrilla Bindow of the All Progressives Congress (APC), scored 334,995 votes.
