Nigeria Covid-19 Cases Exceed 50,000 With 593 New Infections

304 new cases of Covid-19 recorded across 19 States in Nigeria has taken the total count to 44433.

The National Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, confirmed the figures in the daily chart for Tuesday, August 4.

The record shows 910 deaths have been recorded since the pandemic started on February 27.

The NCDC also announced that 31,851 persons have so far recovered from the virus and have been discharged after testing negative twice.

While the FCT topped the list with 90 infections, Lagos reported 59 cases.

Other states with new cases include Ondo – 39, Taraba – 18, Rivers – 17, Borno – 15, Adamawa – 12, Oyo – 11 and Delta – 9.

On the other hand, states with fewer infections include Edo – 6, Bauchi, Kwara, Ogun and Osun each having 4 cases, Bayelsa, Plateau and Niger each having 3 cases, Nasarawa – 2, Kano – 1.
