I’m At Man Utd To Be No 1 Goalkeeper -Henderson

Dean Henderson remains focused on becoming number one for Manchester United and England.

The 24-year-old battled it out with David De Gea for the number one spot at Old Trafford this season, racking up 26 appearances across all competitions.

He is set to deputise behind Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford for the Euros.

“Yeah, 100 per cent,” Henderson said of his intention to take that role at United and England.

“I’ve spoken about this for years. Whether it’s get me in trouble speaking about it, whether it holds me back at certain times, it probably does.

“But at the end of the day it’ll happen one day and I know it’ll happen, so I’m just going to keep working hard day in, day out and my time will come. I’ve just got to be ready for when that time comes.

“There’s no excuses when you step over that white line. You’ve got to puff your chest out and go for it and everything that you’ve put in day in, day out, all the training, everything, pays off.”

Busquets Tests Negative For COVID-19

Sergio Busquets has tested negative in the PCR test he took and is en route to Las Rozas today to join up with La Roja before they head to Seville this afternoon according to Diario AS.

He won’t face Poland tomorrow, but he’s expected to be ready for Spain’s third match at Euro 2020 next Wednesday, against Slovakia.

The Barcelona midfielder had tested positive the weekend before Euro 2020 got underway, throwing Luis Enrique’s plans for the opener against Sweden into chaos.

They drew that game 0-0 at La Cartuja, dominating proceedings but failing to carve open their visitors, who sat deep with a strict 4-4-2 shape. To improve this, Luis Enrique is said to be considering making a change at full-back, midfield and forward

Luis Enrique could bring in Gerard Moreno, but not in place of the much-maligned Alvaro Morata. The pair could form a double-pronged attacking two, with Ferran Torres making way. Aymeric Laporte and Pau Torres look set to continue at centre-back, but Jose Luis Gaya could come in for Jordi Alba.

Naomi Osaka Withdraws From Wimbledon

Naomi Osaka has announced her withdrawal from Wimbledon to “take some personal time with friends and family”.

Team Osaka made the announcement, according to London’s Daily Mail.

“Naomi won’t be playing Wimbledon this year. She is taking some personal time with friends and family. She will be ready for the Olympics and is excited to play in front of her home fans”, the statement said.

Osaka’s decision comes shortly after her late May announcement that she will not be participating in the French Open due to mental health issues.

“The truth is that I have suffered long bouts of depression since the US Open in 2018 and I have had a really hard time coping with that”, she stated back at the time.

The world’s No.2 withdrew from the French Open after boycotting some media interviews and being fined $15,000 for doing that.

She is the second big name after Rafa Nadal to announce withdrawal from Wimbledon which begins 28 June.
