Former Ogun State Commissioner of Youth and Sports, Bukola Olopade, has tested positive for the coronavirus disease.
Olopade made this known in a video on his Instagram page on Thursday evening.
Earlier in the week, the former commissioner in a video posted online said he had been in self-isolation since he realised he had symptoms of COVID-19 and also took a test to confirm his status.
“I got tested for COVID-19, I’ve been in self-isolation for five days now. I’ve developed one or two of the symptoms (but) I’m feeling better, I’m feeling stronger, hoping for a very good result in 72 hours. I hope it’s negative,” he said.
However, his test came positive on Thursday.
In the video shared on his Instagram page, Olopade revealed that he has confirmed his status to be positive and also packed his bags to the isolation centre for proper medical care.
He said;“Good evening, so a few days ago, I did make a video where I said that have been tested for COVID-19 and expecting the result.”
“I did promise to make this public when it’s done and it has come back just few hours ago that I tested positive for COVID-19.”
“As you all know, it’s not a death sentence, it’s not the end of the world, I feel no symptoms, I feel great, I feel healthy but I have been called in.”
”I have packed all my stuffs and ready to go in for observation and hopefully the next few days, I will come out by the special grace of God with a clean bill.”
