Senator Shehu Sani has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to provide adequate security for farmers across Nigeria in order to protect them from been abducted by kidnappers.
In his official twitter handle, Shehu tweeted on Wednesday that the nation’s food security could only be guaranteed when farmers are assured of their safety.
Recall that on Tuesday, he commended Buhari for directing the Central Bank (CBN) not to issue forex for food importation.
“The presidential directive to the CBN to stop issuance of Forex for food importation is the right step forward. It will boost food production at home.”
“Next is to hand over Agric financing to the Bank of Agriculture and not CBN & protect farmers from kidnappers.”
